Despite having looked forward to this trip for 18 months, we were not disappointed. Antarctica exceeded our expectations and left many unforgettable memories. We were apprehensive about crossing Drakes Passage but the captain ended up referring to it as Drakes Lake as it was really calm. The organisation on the boat could not be faulted, the landings on Antarctica by zodiac went like clockwork and the onboard lecturers were first class and very informative (even if we did get lectured out towards the end!). Our only criticism (still shared by many these days) was that as vegetarians we are treated as second class citizens with the chefs unable to offer the interesting meal options that meat and fish eaters enjoy.
